This antique piece which was made in the 1800s is a brooch which has loops at the top to make into a necklace . There is also a small loop at the bottom to add a dangling diamond or pearl. The piece does not have a gold mark, but was tested with nitric acid and a "kee" tester to be 14k solid gold with silver trim that holds the rose cut diamonds. The piece weighs 6.3 grams and measures 1 3/4" x 1 1/4". Bezel set in the center is a round blue natural sapphire. The stone measures 6 mm in diameter which makes it approx 1.00 cts. The brooch also has 10 rose cut natural diamonds . It comes with a C clasp which is typical for that time period.
