The Victorian brooch is made of gold filled and weighs 12.2 grams. It is 1 1/4" in diameter. The center cab red round natural garnet measures 20 mm in diameter which makes it approx 31.5 cts. It is rare in that size. The center stone is surrounded by another 36 round faceted natural garnets. That makes the total weight ot approx 43.58 cts. The stones are in pretty good condition and look a little rough in the picture because of the lighting. The C clasp on the reverse has been replaced by a stronger clasp.
