This wonderful bug brooch has been tested with nitric acid and a "kee" tester to be 18k solid gold and weighs 20 grams. The brooch measures 1 5/8" x 1 1/2". It has natural ruby eyes, a 5.2 mm European cut natural diamond head which is approx .50 cts and there are also 20 rose cut natural diamonds set throughout the wings with an approx total weight of .50 cts. The body of the bug has a natural jelly opal with an approx weight of 7.20 cts.  Set below the diamond that is in the head is a natural pearl. The wings with green enamel have no damage. The bottom of the bug is solid gold.
